In 2000-2001, I worked as a copywriter for The Wireless Group. Training in Bradford and based in Leith and Paisley, I wrote adverts for broadcast on 96.3 Qfm and commercial radio stations around the country. The company practised "creative led sell", meaning I was directly involved in winning business, both obtaining and responding to briefs. Amongst other successes, my copy was selected to front what was to be a high-profile "Scotland the Brand" campaign (which had to be pulled because of the foot and mouth outbreak). I have subsequently worked freelance.
I have written and designed publicity material, both print and online, for events and projects in both politics and the arts, including Arguments and Nosebleeds.
